Crypto Sportsbook Licences: What Each One Means for You

Every book on this site names a licence in its terms: five from Curaçao, four from Anjouan and one from Mwali. A licence tells you who runs the site and who to complain to. It does not make the book legal where you live, and it does not guarantee a payout.

18+ only. Not for players in the UK, the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, most of the EU, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Nigeria, India, Turkey and the other countries listed on our responsible gambling page. Some links are affiliate links: affiliate disclosure.

What a Curaçao, Anjouan or Mwali licence means

The same idea, three regulators.

Curaçao

Licences numbered OGL/2024 are issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which keeps a public register. Five of the ten books hold one.

Complaints go to the book first. Cloudbet's terms then send them to CADRE, an outside dispute service whose ruling is binding.

Anjouan

Anjouan is an island of the Comoros. Its licences carry ALSI numbers and are checked on the regulator's online validator.

BC.Game moved here: it gave up its Curaçao licence in December 2024, after a Curaçao court declared two of its operating companies bankrupt over unpaid winnings claims.

Mwali

Mwali, also called Mohéli, is another island of the Comoros. Sportbet.one's licence G20190045 was issued on 14 March 2019, and its certificate shows no expiry date.

How to check a crypto sportsbook licence

Five minutes, and worth doing before a first deposit.

  1. Step 1

    Find the number

In the site's footer or terms, beside the company name.

  2. Step 2

    Open the regulator's register

The Curaçao Gaming Authority's licence register at cga.cw, or the Anjouan validator linked from the seal.

  3. Step 3

    Match the company

The name and number must match the ones in the book's terms.

  4. Step 4

    Check the status

Active, suspended or revoked. Note the date you checked.

  5. Step 5

    Read the restricted countries

The terms list where the book does not accept players.

In October 2026 the Curaçao Gaming Authority closed its online portal after unauthorised access and said licences stay valid while a new way to prove them is set up. Some seals may not open until then.

What a crypto sportsbook licence does not do

Three things a licence is often taken to mean.

  • Make the book legal where you live

Each licence covers the operator, not your country. Most books here block the UK, the US and many others.

  • Guarantee a payout

A court can still declare an operator bankrupt, as happened to BC.Game's Curaçao companies in 2024.

  • Cover any loss

Dexsport's terms cap its total liability to you at $1,000.

Rules on ID checks also differ by book, not by licence; see KYC at crypto sportsbooks.
