Cash Out Betting Explained: Rules, Value and When It Fails
Cash out lets you settle a bet before the match ends, for an amount the book offers. It can lock in a profit or cut a loss, but the offer is the book's own price, and it can vanish at any moment. Here is how it works at the books on this site.
18+ only. Not for players in the UK, the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, most of the EU, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Nigeria, India, Turkey and the other countries listed on our responsible gambling page. Some links are affiliate links: affiliate disclosure.

How cash out works
The same four steps at every book that offers it.
- Step 1
Place a bet
A single or a multi, before or during the match.
- Step 2
The book makes an offer
The amount changes as the match goes on, above or below your stake.
- Step 3
You accept it
Press Cash Out next to the bet in your bet list.
- Step 4
The bet is settled
The amount goes to your balance and the final result no longer matters.
Shuffle's and Stake's rules say the same thing: once you cash out, the bet is concluded and the result has no effect on it.
How to tell if a cash out offer is fair
A fair offer is your stake times your odds, divided by the current odds of the same result. A 10 USDT bet on Bayern at 2.29:
- If Bayern drop to 1.30
- 17.62USDT a fair offer would pay; they are now likely to win
- If Bayern drop to 1.05
- 21.81USDT, close to the full 22.90 payout
- If Bayern drift to 4.00
- 5.73USDT; a fair offer is now well below the stake
Books do not publish how they work out their offer, and it includes their margin, so the real offer is usually below these figures. The gap is what cashing out costs you. More on reading prices in betting odds explained.
Cash out rules at USDT sportsbooks
What the books' own terms say.
- Stake
Pre-match and live, singles and multis. Not on Same Game Multi; player props pre-match only.
- Shuffle
Not on certain markets, and a time delay on every cash out.
- Roobet
Offers can be changed, suspended or withdrawn at any time without a reason.
- Thrill
Each offer is made by the book, which can decline to make one without giving a reason.
- Duelbits
On a range of sports and markets, with no guarantee it is always there.
Why cash out is not available on your bet
The reasons Stake lists, which match the rules at the other books.
- The market is suspended
When the book suspends a market, for example after a goal, cash out closes with it.
- The odds moved in the delay
Every cash out has a time delay, and it fails if the price changes during it.
- The bet type does not allow it
Same Game Multis at Stake, for example.
- No live coverage
A pre-match cash out ends at kick-off if the book does not price the match live.
- The book withdrew the offer
Roobet and Thrill can do this without a reason.
What cash out can cost you
Beyond the offer itself.
- Lower prices for early settlement
Thrill's Early Payout prices on Bayern v Arsenal carried a 7.66% margin against 4.29% for its normal prices.
- Bonus progress
Dexsport does not count cashed-out bets towards its deposit rule. See minimum odds and bonus rollover.
- A reversed settlement
Stake can reverse a cash out it settled in error.
Cash out also runs during live matches, where prices carry a bigger margin than before kick-off. Each book's in-play margin and cash-out rules are compared on USDT live betting.
Cash out betting explained: FAQ
What is cash out in betting?
Settling a bet before the event ends, for an amount the book offers at that moment.
Is cash out worth it?
Only when the offer is close to fair. The book's margin is built into it.
Why can't I cash out my bet?
The market may be suspended, the price may have moved, or the book does not offer it on that bet.
Can I cash out a multi?
At Stake, yes for normal multis but not for Same Game Multis.
Does cash out count towards a bonus?
Not always. Dexsport does not count cashed-out bets towards its deposit rule.
Can a book take a cash out offer away?
Yes. Roobet and Thrill can change or withdraw offers at any time.
